RN Video Editor Privacy Policy

RN Video Editor is a video editing app that runs on your device. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: your projects and videos stay on your phone, and the only thing that ever goes online is the optional RN Assets library, if you choose to sign in to it.

No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no data is sold or shared for advertising.

What stays on your device

The following is kept only in the app's private storage on your phone or tablet:

The username and 5-digit password you create when you first open the app.
Your projects, and the copies of videos, photos and audio you add to them.
Your theme and export preferences, and a few technical notes the app uses to recover if it has to restart.

Uninstalling the app removes all of it. You can also delete everything at any time from Profile › Delete all projects and media.

Permissions the app asks for

Camera and microphone: only when you tap Record or Voiceover. Recordings are saved inside the app and are never uploaded.
Photos, videos and music: files are opened only when you choose them in your phone's file picker or share them to the app. Finished videos are saved to your Movies (or Music) folder. On Android 9 and older the app asks for storage access to save there.
Internet: used only by the optional RN Assets library.

Text to speech

Voiceovers made with Text to speech or Read aloud use the voice engine already installed on your phone (for example Google or Samsung). The text is processed by that engine on your device, and RN Video Editor does not send it anywhere.

RN Assets (optional online library)

RN Assets is a library of stock videos, images and music run by the same developer. You can use the editor without it.

If you sign in, the email address and password you type are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to the RN Assets service. Sign-in is handled by Supabase, which provides the RN Assets account system.
The app keeps a sign-in token on your phone so you stay signed in. Tapping Sign out deletes it.
Your search words and the IDs of assets you download are sent to RN Assets to show results and to count your free downloads.
Downloaded files are saved inside the app on your phone. RN Assets never receives your projects, videos or recordings.

Your RN Assets account is covered by the privacy policy on the RN Assets website, rn-assets-rajesh-4e9d.vercel.app. To delete your RN Assets account and its data, email the address below from the email you signed up with and it will be deleted within 30 days.

Built-in music, sound effects, templates and graphics

All built-in music, sound effects, templates, backgrounds, shapes, stickers and badges are made by the app itself. Fonts are open-source (SIL Open Font License or Apache 2.0). You can use all of them in any video, including commercial and monetised videos. Using them sends no information anywhere.

Security

Everything you create stays in storage that only RN Video Editor can read. The only network connections (RN Assets) use HTTPS encryption.

Children

RN Video Editor is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The optional RN Assets sign-in is meant for users aged 13 and over.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this same address with a new effective date.
